The National Development Bank (NDB) has unveiled a five-year strategy to reposition itself from a traditional development finance institution into a hybrid bank that combines developmental and commercial banking, aiming to scale private-sector-led investment and support economic diversification.
Launching the 2025–2030 strategy in Gaborone, NDB Chief Executive Officer Ogone Madisa said the bank will move beyond a narrow lending mandate toward a broader financing ecosystem that blends catalytic capital, commercial lending, and market-based funding structures.
