Old Mutual Botswana has announced the introduction of the countryโs first insurance product available fully on WhatsApp, the DigiLife Loan Protection.
Through WhatsApp, customers will now be able to request a quote, purchase a loan protection policy, submit a claim and do much more. DigiLife Loan Protection is designed to fully settle the outstanding debt of a customer, should the life assured die or become permanently disabled before they settle their loan.ย
Lending facilities that will be covered by this product include credit cards, personal loans, vehicle loans and mortgages.
According to the Group CEO of Old Mutual Botswana, Gerald Randall, access to insurance products and services remains a challenge with many customers in Botswana living in far outlying areas. Randall says the companyโs aim is to transform its customer experience through value-driven digital innovation and to ensure that their customers are able to access products and services offered when they need them most.ย
Old Mutual has made significant progress in digitizing customer platforms like Chatbot and WhatsApp servicing over the last two years. The company offers short-term insurance, including household, car and business insurance as well as life insurance products such as group funeral insurance, group income protection, and disability benefits, among others.
