Fairgrounds Fires Up the Experience Economy
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Modern consumers no longer settle for products or services alone—they crave experiences. They want moments that engage the senses, spark social interaction, and leave memories to share long after the event ends. In Botswana, this shift toward the experience economy is increasingly evident, with more people seeking events that go beyond the ordinary and create lasting impressions.

Recognising this trend, Fairground Holdings has partnered with lifestyle events brand Meat on Fire in a three-year collaboration aimed at delivering exactly what consumers want. Long established as a leading venue provider for exhibitions, conferences, and corporate events, Fairground Holdings is now transforming into a curator of experiences.

Its professional infrastructure, hospitality expertise, and event management capabilities provide the ideal stage for immersive, lifestyle-driven events. Meat on Fire, meanwhile, brings its signature high-energy culinary experiences and a loyal community eager for more than just a meal. Together, the partnership is designing events where every detail—from food presentation to interactive setups—is intended to delight, engage, and entertain.

The upcoming Meat on Fire Carnivore Experience, set for 1 November at Fairground Holdings, promises just that. The menu will feature an expansive selection of meats, including kudu, crocodile, premium beef, lamb, and goat, all presented in ways that encourage exploration and participation.

Kaelo Sabone, Managing Director of Meat on Fire, expressed excitement about the collaboration:
“From the moment we walked the Fairground grounds, we knew this could be something special. We work with fire, food, and people, and now we have a space that lets us bring all of that to life. Every event we host here will be bigger, bolder, and packed with flavour.”

Fairground Holdings’ CEO, Gorata Gabaraane, added perspective on the partnership’s significance:
“Partnerships like this reaffirm our belief that when creativity meets collaboration, extraordinary things happen. Together with Meat on Fire, we are creating experiences that people will eagerly anticipate, cherish, and talk about for years to come.”

Sales and Marketing Manager Barati Phagane highlighted the strategic vision behind the collaboration:
“This partnership strengthens our position as Botswana’s premier events destination while providing partners and attendees with unforgettable experiences. We are proud to host events that excite, unite, and create lasting memories.”

Beyond offering a memorable experience, the partnership also contributes to the local economy. Chefs, vendors, entertainers, and service providers all benefit from participation, showing how lifestyle experiences can generate both social and economic value. By combining professional venue management with creative, immersive events, Fairground Holdings and Meat on Fire are putting Botswana’s experience economy on full display.

For consumers, it’s more than a meal or an event—it’s an opportunity to immerse themselves in flavour, culture, and energy. The Meat on Fire Carnivore Experience on 1 November invites Batswana to taste, interact, and enjoy an unforgettable culinary journey, marking a new chapter in the country’s evolving lifestyle and hospitality scene.
