Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) says it continues to engage the business community globally, interesting them on Botswana and what the country has to offer for investment and trade.

As part of His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi E.K Masisi’s visit to Australia, BITC in collaboration with key stakeholders will participate at the Africa Down Under Conference to be held in Perth, Australia from the 6th – 8th September 2023.

On the sidelines of the Africa Down Under Conference, BITC will on the 7th September 2023 host an ‘Invest in Botswana’ Business Forum in Perth, Australia, that will be headlined by H.E Dr. Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi. The business forum will be attended by business delegations from both Botswana and Australia and will immediately be followed by business-to-business matchmaking meetings. The high-level business engagement will see participation by other key stakeholders such as Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA), Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO), Ministry of Minerals and Energy, the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA), Ministry of Agriculture, Mineral Development Corporation Botswana (MDCB) and seven local businesses. The forum will be held in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia.

The main objective of this engagement is to promote investment opportunities in Botswana in the various sectors, especially Business Services, Finance, Mining, Tourism, and Agriculture, as well as facilitate opportunities for joint venture partnerships between the participating Botswana companies and their Australian counterparts that are keen to collaborate and possibly expand to Botswana by taking advantage of the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement. The expected outcome of these engagements is to create awareness of Botswana in Australia, to promote what Botswana has to offer for potential investors in various sectors and create leads for possible investment into Botswana.
